THE CLEAR CREEK RESIDENCE This home, which is situated on 5 acres in Jessamine county, began its transformation as a 3 bedroom, 2 bath, 1,700 square foot ranch.  After the whole house remodel, which included two additions, the end result is a 4 bedroom, 3 1/2 bath, approximately 2,500 square foot home with a 3-car garage, a covered patio and a new side entry porch.  The first addition, added to the left side of the house, features a new master suite accented by a large, new bath and an impressive closet.  A third garage was added to the right side of the house, resulting in a front façade that is symmetrical.  There is now a grand feel to the front of the house, especially when the new posts and railings on the front porch were enhanced and the shutters and front door replaced. Our creativity was tested by the completely re-imagined floor plan of this house. Several rooms were repurposed and relocated — the old master bathroom became the laundry room, the master closet became a side entrance and half bath, the old kitchen became a mudroom and butler’s pantry, and the master bedroom itself became a large, efficient and functional kitchen and breakfast nook.  New Andersen windows, hardwood flooring and lighting completed the total transformation. Behind the scenes, the home’s all electric systems were converted to propane and a consistently wet crawlspace was waterproofed and conditioned to ensure an energy efficient, clean and dry space. THE STONEWALL RESIDENCE This family home, passed from one generation to the next, had not been updated since it was built over 45 years ago. With the addition of two new spaces, one for a master bedroom suite and the other for a comfortable sunroom, the homeowners added over 700 square feet of living space. No detail was left to chance in this whole house renovation. THE MEADOW CREEK RESIDENCE This family’s eat-in kitchen felt very confined and small.  A partition wall dividing the kitchen and dining room made the room feel small and disconnected from the rest of the house.  We removed the wall and lowered part of the vaulted ceiling so that the kitchen and dining room would blend well together.  With all new hardwood, new cabinetry and island seating, there is now room for everyone.  We achieved our goal of making these rooms feel much more open! THE STONEWALL KITCHEN We worked closely with our client to transform an outdated kitchen and hearth room with an awkward floor plan into an inviting and functional gathering place.  Soffits and partition walls were removed, openings enlarged and beautiful new cabinetry installed.  Heart pine flooring, reclaimed from her mother’s home, adds a special touch and vibrant warmth to the entire space.  The once choppy and dark rooms now have a cozy “beach house” feel and a kitchen any cook will love! THE EDGEWATER EXTERIOR With a setting like Edgewater, the outdoor space should be a focal point.  Our client had a 40+ year old large brick patio that was sinking in the middle and lacked form and practical placement.  We were tasked with creating a walkway to the water and removing and re-creating a more inviting patio.  A new stone wall at the lake’s edge completes this backyard transformation. THE EDGEWATER BASEMENT With its unique lakefront setting, the lower level of this spacious 1970’s era home called for more light, a better view and a functional floor plan.  Our extensive basement renovation included adding windows, relocating all mechanicals and transforming a concrete storm shelter into usable space.  This 1,600-square-foot area features a new bar, a full bath, an exercise room and plenty of room for billiards, games and movies with the family.
